GBGH Looking To Fill Four Board Vacancies

Georgian-Bay-General-Hospital-MidlandGeorgian Bay General Hospital is a 105-bed hospital serving residents and visitors in the Southern Georgian Bay shoreline communities of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny Township, Tay Township, Beausoleil First Nation, Georgian Bay Township and Springwater Township.

In order to identify a diverse group of Board members for the hospital, the Community Based Nominations Committee (CBNC) for Georgian Bay General Hospital is seeking expressions of interest from members of our community to fill 4 positions on our Board. The Georgian Bay General Hospital Board is skills-based and provides governance oversight of the hospital’s mission, vision, values and the strategic plan.

The hospital is especially interested in applications from individuals who reflect our communities, particularly people from the Francophone , First Nation, Metis and Inuit communities.

You are committed to the mission, vision and values of Georgian Bay General Hospital. As a volunteer director on the board, you have experience with, or are comfortable with, the governance – as opposed to management – role.

    1. They need representation from the community at large… it costs nothing to apply and I would not assume you are any less qualified to serve than someone with more formal education. Life smarts should not be discounted and are as equally important and valuable to any board of directors.

    2. Life experience is often more applicable than education for governance. You need to be able to look at the whole picture I am sure.
