Local Movie Short “Being Kevin” Needs Your Votes

“Being Kevin” was made in December 2015 as part of a project called the 100-Hour Film Challenge.

The Midland Mirror reported on Sept 16th that “The creators of a short film shot in Midland last winter are asking for the public’s help to get it nominated for the Canadian Comedy Awards.

Those involved in the effort included Bryan Piitz, Nate Lacroix, Deanna Palazzo, James Dalzell, Brendan Main and Eamonn O’Connell.

The short film is about a man who discovers the perks and pitfalls of looking like a celebrity, in this case famed movie director Kevin Smith.

A long list of shorts has been submitted for CCA consideration. The top five vote-getters at canadiancomedyawards.org by Sept. 30 will become the nominees. The final voting period will then run from Oct. 3-16. The winner will be announced online on Oct. 17”
