On January 10th, the Ontario correctional workers will be in a legal strike position.   Many of those workers live in Midland and surrounding communities.  What will a strike mean to them and how could it impact the rest of the community?  There is a town hall style meeting being held at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre at 7:00 PM on Thursday January 7th, hosted by OPSEU (Ontario Public Service Employees Union) to discuss all these issues and more with interested town’s folk and the employees impacted by the labour dispute.

If you are interested in what this dispute is all about, why there has been no movement on either side of the negotiating table and how it will or could impact the community, you are invited to attend.

Update:  The union and the Province have come to an agreement that avoids a strike.
