One of the very best cantatas  ever staged in Midland was held Sunday morning at St. Paul’s United Church under music director Victoria Warwick. The well rehearsed cantata was performed before a full house. The magnificent choir consisting of local talent was joined by Georgian Bay Brass, instrumentalists,  wood winds, strings, piano and PSS musicians. After each selection, the congregation gave performers a rousing ovation…. and at the conclusion, the packed church rose as one to show performers their great  appreciation.

Hats off to Vickie…..give your baton a rest and enjoy Christmas with your family, friends and cantata fans.

A cantata [kanˈtaːta] (literally “sung”, past participle feminine singular of the Italian verb cantare, “to sing”) is a vocal composition with an instrumental accompaniment, typically in several movements, often involving a choir.
