Ah, life in a small town. This week’s topic, four-way stop at King and Elizabeth in downtown Midland.  Already there are a few Midlanders predicting the number of motor vehicle collisions will be recorded during the first few weeks the stops come into play. There is even money on the number of pedestrians who might get hurt running to town buses in the same vicinity. In any event, the three month trial has generated much interest in our town of 17,000.

The upcoming Butter Tart Festival is gaining traction, while the status of a Ribfest now shelved really didn’t see that much light of day.  So for now the four-way stop that comes into play on Monday remains the number one topic discussed over back fences and wherever when two or more gather.  Between now and Monday you might want to case the place out since next week rolling stops are out of the question.
