Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne has begun a trade mission to the Middle East. The mission comes with a plane load of like-minded Wynne groupies tagging along. So while dwindling health care at home is still very much on the front burner, the Premier is making a quit exit stage left to drum up business for Yours to Discover in advance of next provincial election back home in 2018. Nobody begrudged her mixing with those of her ilk on the other side of the globe…..but she has a ton of problems not resolved yet here in Ontario.
Just like her counterpart in Ottawa willing to send $750 million overseas to fight a bunch of diseases while at the same time refusing help from other countries in quelling a terrible fire in Fort McMurray which could cost well over $10 billion, both Wynne and Trudeau have their obligations highly confused, and Canadian Taxpayers will end up biting the bullet. Politics makes for strange bed fellows, photo ops, vested interests you know the routine. So while the Fort McMurray fire enters its third week and smoke stretching to the East Coast can be seen from ISS 250 miles above our globe, it is more business as usual in both Grit camps at Queen’s Park and on The Hill.
