Last summer a total of 25 youngsters died as a result of being left alone in locked, hot vehicles…..the count was almost the same for pets. This year south of the border the number of deaths is similar although sadly climbing. In Canada about a dozen youngsters have succumbed to the same fate so far this hellish hot summer. The message never seems to get through. One child in the states, locked in his father’s car, in a church parking lot, died while dad was attending church. Never lock your children and pets in your car while you “shop for just a few things.” And for crying out loud how can anyone say, “I just forgot my kid was in the back seat when I spent a few hours at the casino”? If one can fry an egg inside a terribly hot car one can also fry the a child or pet!
