As one scours local news purveyors from a host of sources it is interesting, if not amusing, to read  how some  stories come in various shades.  There are those communicators who try their very best to be objective as possible. Being honest is their stock in trade. Then there is the self-serving medicine oil sales person type. Straight faced but always with something up their sleeves. A rather odd combination of truth-telling but not over doing it.

When Midland was a two newspaper municipality,  both were good for each other with their checks and balances. Benefactors were their readers.  For the record, as we see it, the tradition lives on, you can be assured. No more Free Press, yes,  but now (Y)OurMidland.ca and The Midland Mirror are very much alive and well and keeping their readers well-informed and you can take that to the bank.  Thinking out loud.
