Recording artist Prince did not have a will when he died, cause yet unknown. With a music library estimated to be about $500 million, his siblings are expected to divide his fortune after paying whopping estate taxes. In this day and age it is hard to believe there are those alive who have no wills or for that matter house or life insurance. I
t could be these folks grew up in an environment where their parents never talked about this topic. Could be related to the fact after paying for food and rent there was never anything left to purchase coverage or have a proper will prepared.
After reading about Prince being promoted to glory and leaving no instructions as to how his assets should be dealt with, it should be a wake up call for the rest of us to make certain all bases are covered. It shouldn’t have to be daunting when it comes to one getting his or her ducks in order.
