The Town of Midland is a dynamic community situated on Georgian Bay and based in the heart of one of our nation’s most beautiful recreational areas.
The Town of Midland bustles in the spring and summer months as tourists and residents, alike, take advantage of the many recreational opportunities. Midland has a dynamic recreational waterfront, which includes the picturesque Harbour, and waterfront trail for walking, biking and rollerblading. The summer season affords an opportunity to view the beautiful horticultural displays throughout Midland. Take a stroll through the hub of our downtown area and enjoy the array of boutiques, restaurants and services, as well as the beautiful murals scattered throughout the downtown core.
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall… we have it all!
The winter season has just as much to offer. The Georgian Bay Snowriders have been providing snowmobile trails for over 30 years in the Midland and surrounding area. They consist entirely of volunteers that brush and sign the trails, deck bridges, fundraise and maintain the trail networks. They provide quality, well maintained snowmobile trails and promote winter tourism in our community. The Midland Curling Club, which was inducted to the Midland Sports Hall of Fame in the “Historical Sport Facility” category, on October 9, 2004, has been providing its members and guests with a fantastic curling and social experience since 1919. The North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose facility, and home to two ice surfaces, which allows for flexibility when accommodating all the needs of the community.
The Arts also thrive in this growing and diverse community. The Midland Cultural Centre (MCC) is a self-sustaining, inspiring and functional year-round facility for arts and culture in Huronia. The MCC provides a facility for music, art, theatre and culture with ongoing programs and events.
For those wishing to experience the culture and history of the area, we offer the Huronia Museum, Sainte Marie Among the Hurons, the Martyr’s Shrine and the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. Midland’s hospitality is reflected in its many historic sites, museums, recreational areas and its friendly people.
We hope that our Website will allow you to gain a sense of our community and entice you to visit us this summer. If you already live in Midland, we hope that you share our pride in this progressive community.
