Motel conversion – The County of Simcoe took possession of the Barr Motel and adjacent house, at 164 and 170 Essa Rd. in Barrie on Jan. 22. The property will be converted into a 17-unit supportive housing project for people who have experienced homelessness. Redwood Park Communities will undertake the conversion of the build and operate the project once construction is complete.

Capital roads – Delays have been experienced in a number of Roads Capital Project. To ensure effective use of capital funds, staff proposed revisions to the 2018 Roads Capital budget. The revisions would cut significant funding in 2018 to certain projects to make way for additional projects.
