An extreme cold warning is in effect for Simcoe County

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake, Orillia, Lagoon City, Washago, Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Angus, Orangeville, Grand Valley, Southern Dufferin County, Shelburne, Mansfield, and Northern Dufferin County.

A period of very cold wind chills is expected with wind chill values of minus 30 or below are occurring this morning.


Wind chills will moderate during daytime hours today.


Tonight wind chills are expected to be slightly warmer than this morning, however they will still be quite low, with values in the minus 22 to minus 27 range expected.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
