Roughly 3,500 Jehovah’s Witnesses will gather at the Barrie Molson Centre next week.
The “Be Courageous” convention is a weekend of teaching for the faith.
“It takes a great deal of courage to stand out and be different in the world we live in,” said Steven Brown, media services overseer of the event.
Brown said the faith upholds a standard of living and morality outlined in the Bible.
“It’s scoffed at and ridiculed and we accept that as part of the territory,” Brown said.
The convention runs from June 15 to 17 at the Barrie Molson Centre, and is free of charge to attend. While the majority of attendees will be Jehovah’s Witnesses from the region, all are welcome. More information is available at JW.org.
