It’s not what’s in the bowl that matters, but what the bowl represents.
Laura Thompson, a mixed-media artist in Simcoe County, said she was disheartened by so much bad news in the mainstream media.
“I wanted something to focus on all the good that I believe is out there that we don’t hear about,” Thompson said.
Thompson made 100 bowls out of quilt-like fabric.
“I do 95 per cent on the sewing machine,” Thompson said. “There’s a little bit of handwork that’s done at the end. It took a long time to get them all together and to refine the technique.”
