Captain Ken has been dedicated to the restaurant business since he was a teenager. Almost 40 years later, he still can’t get enough.

“I’ve seen parents come in with their kids and now those kids are coming in with their kids, which is kind of cool,” said Ken Cowan, owner of Captain Ken’s Diner.

“I must be doing something right if I’m still here.”

Cowan is looking forward to the completion of construction on Main Street, which has hurt his business this summer.

“I’m down at least 50 per cent. They are doing a good job, but it’s been tough,” he said.

Construction below Robert Street is expected to be complete enough to allow traffic and parking with a week or two.

“That’s a yahoo,” he said.
