MIDLAND – Young artists are invited to learn about cartooning for comics, animation and illustration during an upcoming Quest Art School and Gallery class.

Starting Oct. 5, cartoonist Marshall Geddes will lead a six-week class for participants between eight and 14 years of age. Geddes, who studied at Sheridan College and the Toronto School of Art, will guide students as they work toward producing a finished illustration, comic or flip book.

“Go Graphic Wednesdays” runs from 6-7:30 p.m. The cost, including all materials, is $115 for Quest Art members and $140 for non-members.

Quest Art is also offering “Paint It Up” on Thursdays starting Oct. 6 for children six to 12. The eight-week program runs from 4-5:30 p.m. and will teach kids how to work with different types of paints, tools, surfaces and subject matter.

The cost is $96 for Quest Art members and $112 for non-members. This program also allows for drop-ins at the price of $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
