Shared: Cause of Port McNicoll cottage fire to be investigated

A fire at a cottage in Port McNicoll on Aug. 22 will be the subject of investigation by the OPP central crime unit and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office.

Tay Township Fire Services has requested assistance in determining the cause and origin of the fire at a seasonal bungalow.

The fire destroyed the estimated $120,000 structure.

Last Wednesday afternoon, a visitor to Port McNicoll for a wedding looked out his kitchen window to see the next door neighbour’s waterfront cottage on fire.

Andrew Degenhardt called 911 before 4:30 p.m.
