Shared: Concerns raised over air quality at Penetanguishene hospital

Georgian Bay General Hospital is looking into the air quality at its Penetanguishene site after staff working in the building raised concerns.

GBGH recently hired a third-party engineering firm to conduct an analysis of the air quality inside the 25 Jeffery St. building. Work was completed on Aug. 17 and preliminary results were received by hospital officials on Aug. 23.

The air-quality investigation report has outlined some measures, which the hospital is immediately implementing. It was also submitted to the Ministry of Labour for review.

The Penetanguishene site houses the hospital’s finance department, as well as an eight-station dialysis unit and satellite site of the Regional Kidney Care Program Simcoe Muskoka, based out of Orillia Soldiers’…
