Mundy’s Bay Public School will benefit from an online fundraising campaign intended to revitalize its library.
Donations to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s “Adopt-a-School” initiative can be made until Oct. 9 at adoptaschool.indigo.ca. The school will receive 100 per cent of the funds raised for new books and educational resources.
“Schools severely lack the funds and resources they need to keep libraries up to date,” Ariel Siller, the foundation’s executive director, said in a statement. “We are proud to provide a program that supports local communities as they put books back at the heart of their school libraries and inspire a love of reading in every Canadian child.”
Since its inception, the “Adopt-a-School” campaign has raised more than $3.7 million for elementary schools across Canada.
