Shared: Environment Canada warns cold snap coming to Simcoe County on Thursday

Environment Canada says Simcoe County will experience a cold snap starting late Thursday through to Saturday.

A special weather statement has been issued for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake, Orillia, Lagoon City, Washago, Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Angus, Orangeville, Grand Valley, Southern Dufferin County, Shelburne, Mansfield, and Northern Dufferin County.

A bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario Thursday. Extreme cold warning criteria of minus 30 is expected to be met in many places Thursday night into Friday and again Friday night into Saturday.

The cold snap will end by Sunday as a southwesterly flow develops.
