Five people have been charged after a major investigation into a series of break and enters in the Midland area.

On Feb. 14, Southern Georgian Bay OPP charged three men and two women in connection to break-ins that occured in Tiny, Tay, Midland and Penetanguishene through January and February.

Police say the suspects were responsible for taking more than $10,000 in property, including a large collection of Canadian Forces service medals that have since been turned back over to the veteran’s family.

Josh Thompson, 40, of Midland faces more than 30 charges, including break and enter, trafficking in stolen property, failing to comply with a probation order, and obstructing police. He is currently being held for a bail hearing.
