Shared: Go Girls program offering Midland teens unique mentorship opportunity

Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe is expanding their Go Girls mentoring program and will be offering it community wide beginning in April.

Go Girls is a group mentoring program for girls aged 12-14 that focuses on physical activity, balanced eating and self-esteem. A new seven-week program consisting of seven two-hour long mentoring sessions will be launched on April 7.

“Through discussions and interactive games, we talk about being physically active, eating balanced meals and feeling good about yourself. Each session has different goals,” said Shelby Thompson, who co-mentored last year’s program offered at Huronia Centennial Elementary School.
