Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for most of southern Ontario
Humidex values reaching 40 C are expected. The extreme heat will continue for several days.
A hot and humid air mass is forecast to affect the area Monday and remain in place into early Wednesday, before a cold front moves through the region Wednesday afternoon. Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 31 C with humidex values near 40 C. Overnight low temperatures will be in the low 20s, providing little relief from the heat.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and people working or exercising outdoors.
