A massive $1.5 million donation has revived Hospice Huronia’s plans to build a new five-bed residential hospice.
The organization announced on Sept. 10 that an “angel donor” had stepped forward with $1.5 million to support building the local residential hospice.
“Hospice Huronia is ecstatic over the donation and the fact that it means we can begin the process required to restart the construction phase,” stated an email from JoAnn Warren, fund development manager.
In late August, Hospice Huronia officials made the difficult decision to put the project on hold and delay construction by at least six months in order to raise another $1 million.
