Shared: How the 2018 Penetanguishene budget is going to impact you

1. Penetanguishene is proposing a 2018 budget with an overall tax increase of 2.2 per cent. The town portion of this increase is 1.96 per cent, while the OPP levy is 0.23 per cent. Over the last seven years the average yearly tax increase has been 2.2 per cent.

2. The $10.4 million allocated for Main Street reconstruction is the biggest item in the capital budget. There is also $450,000 allocated for structural repairs on the concrete wharf, $272,000 for the sewage treatment plant expansion, $150,00 for a McGuire Park Playground, and $135,000 for new pickleball courts.
