For Penetanguishene, 2018 will be defined by how well the Main Street reconstruction project goes.
As it stands, council is confident it has the right people in place to pull off the massive project, which will involve shutting down portions of the town’s busiest street for three-quarters of the year.
“I think we are in good hands,” said Mayor Gerry Marshall. “I think the contractor really has it together. I’m really happy with what I’ve heard.”
Barrie-based contractor J.B. Enterprises, which was awarded the project for $10.57 million, has successfully completed similar downtown construction projects in Orillia, Midland and Port McNicoll.
