Shared: Midland butter tart festival named ‘favourite regional festival’

Midland’s sweetest event is also one of the most popular in Simcoe County.

Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival won a people’s choice award for favourite regional festival at the Ontario Restaurant, Hotel and Motel Association’s 2018 Simcoe Hospitality Awards gala on April 19.

“It was an honour to accept this award on behalf of our community and past organizers and the volunteers who have worked to make this such a successful event,” said Karen Mealing, cultural development co-ordinator for the Town of Midland and organizer of the 2018 festival.

The festival will return for a sixth year on June 9 to celebrate the popular Canadian dessert. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include 200 vendors.
