Five Midland dealerships are pooling their resources to raise funds for charities including the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Foundation.

In 2017, the dealerships in north Simcoe County contributed more than $215,000 to community projects, sponsorships and charities, according to data compiled from Bourgeois Motors, Midland Honda, Tom Smith Chevrolet, Midland Toyota and Midland Chrysler.

Sharon Vegh, economic development officer for the Economic Development Corporation of North Simcoe, said the dealerships provide 250 jobs worth more than $12 million in wages to the area.

“They are important members of our local economy; they employ local people and invest in a wide variety of community activities and projects,” Vegh said.
