Shared: Midland festival expecting more than 180,000 butter tarts

More than 50,000 people are expected to descend upon Midland this Saturday to devour more than 180,000 butter tarts during the sixth annual Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival.

The largest butter tart event in the province will pack King Street with more than 200 vendors selling everything from butter tarts to clothing to jewelry.

“Ontarians love their butter tarts,” said Karen Mealing, cultural development co-ordinator with the Town of Midland and organizer of the 2018 festival. “And whether you like them plain or filled with raisins, with a runny or firm filling, or with a traditional or gluten-free crust, you will find them at our festival.”
