Shared: Midland Legion on verge of being debt-free, now looking to revitalize building
After successfully digging out of massive debt, the Midland Legion is looking to raise funds for a revitalization project to ensure the facility continues to operate into the foreseeable future.
Daniel Travers, Sergeant-at-Arms for Royal Canadian Legion Branch 80, says legion executives want to refocus and rebrand the legion as an inclusive community space.
“We are at stage two of keeping the legion alive. We are not out of the woods yet,” said Travers. “We have come to the conclusion that this has to be an inclusive space – this isn’t just a place where grizzled old veterans can come around and talk about old battle scars.”
