Shared: Midland man charged after allegedly robbing grocery store

A 29-year-old Midland man is facing theft charges after he allegedly stole from a Highway 93 Grocery store.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Aug. 21, Southern Georgian Bay OPP were dispatched to investigate a robbery in Midland.

Officers spoke with the store manager and received a description of a lone man who fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.

Investigators, with assistance from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, located and arrested Jordan Welch on the afternoon of Aug. 23 in connection to the robbery. He was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
