Shared: Midland man facing drunk driving charges after driving into oncoming traffic, blowing red light
A 33-year-old man is facing a serious of drinking and driving related charges after being stopped by the Midland police on Dec. 29.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Midland police officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven into oncoming traffic and failing to stop at red lights in the King Street, Highway 12 area.
Officers located the motor vehicle in a parking lot on Jones Road and spoke with the man, who was seated in his car. Officers detected alcohol on the suspect’s breath and noted signs of intoxication.
Robert William Steven Baker was placed under arrest and transported to the detachment.
The suspect later caused damage to a holding cell, rendering the cell inoperative. He has been charged with mischief and care…
