Does Midland have too many councillors? This topic was brought back to the forefront during a Nov. 27 council meeting when a local resident questioned the need for seven councillors, a deputy mayor and mayor for a town of 16,864.
Resident Gary Worters, who moved to Midland a year ago, was baffled at the fact the small town has just as many councillors as Newmarket, a town of 80,000.
He addressed council at a recent meeting proposing a reduction from seven councillors to five.
