Midland native Laura Tremblay has been cast in Jukebox Hero: The Musical, which will be coming to Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre in February.

“I cried my eyes out when I found out I got the role,” said Tremblay.

Back in her youth, when she was taking music and drama classes at St. Theresa’s Catholic High School, Tremblay dreamed of a career in musical theatre. After graduating the drama program at Queen’s University, she moved to Toronto and experienced the harsh realities of the industry.

“When I moved to Toronto I quickly realized I don’t have the dancing skills,” said Tremblay, noting that most auditions would start with dancing before moving on to singing and acting.
