Shared: Midland’s Weber Manufacturing investing $8 million to expand production capacity

Weber Manufacturing Technologies Inc. is in the midst of a major investment which will see the company purchase $8 million in equipment in order to expand its technological capabilities.

A 2017 DMU 340 P Unimould five-axis milling machine, the third of its kind in North America, is the focal point of the capital investment plan. The $3.2-million machine, which the company had to tear down a wall in order to install, will streamline the tool making process and cut down on production time.

“What takes 48 hours with a three-axis machine is completed in 24 hours with the DMU 340, providing an extra 24 hours to machine additional pieces,” said Weber president Chris Edwards.
