Shared: Ontario government’s public-sector salary freeze affecting Georgian College

The Ontario Progressive Conservative government has reinstated a salary freeze for public sector executives, meaning some Simcoe County institution leaders like those at Georgian College will have gone without any kind of raise for the better part of a decade.

Premier Doug Ford’s government has suspended salary increases for broader public sector executives who make more than $100,000 a year, including those at school boards, hospitals, universities and colleges.

The new compensation regulation suspending increases was implemented Aug. 13.
