Shared: OPP apprehend impaired e-bike operator during Penetanguishene snowstorm

Southern Georgian Bay OPP charged an e-bike driver with impaired driving during a snowstorm Nov. 19. 

Officers made the arrest on Main Street in Penetanguishene late Sunday afternoon after a concerned citizen notified police.

An e-bike was making its way on the snow-covered road in whiteout conditions heading into Penetanguishene. Officers located the e-bike and began their investigation into the condition of the operator. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.

Christopher Story, 32, of Penetanguishene has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level above 80 milligrams.

The e-bike was towed and impounded for seven days.  Story was released from police custody and is scheduled…
