Shared: ‘Peek at the Past’ sees Midland students dig into town’s history

Six Grade 10 history students from Georgian Bay District Secondary School interviewed three interesting north Simcoe residents for a recent project.

Former Midland police officer Jack Charlebois, First Nations veteran Bill Jamieson and community volunteer Lefty Duncan shared their thoughts with the students about their lives, what the area once was and what it has become.

“Bill Jamieson is from Christian Island and he was a peacekeeper during the war,” said student Shayna Shawongonabe. “It was interesting to hear his perspective on the region and all of the areas he has been to.”
