Shared: Penetanguishene businesses want task force to help guide Main Street reconstruction
Penetanguishene businesses are calling for the creation of a special task force to help ensure they survive the impacts of the upcoming reconstruction of Main Street.
Business owners packed into the council chambers on Oct. 25 to support a Penetanguishene Business Association request for the construction mitigation task force.
“Municipal construction projects have the potential to harm local business, but in today’s economic climate already struggling business may suffer even more when public constriction threatens access and alters traffic,” said Betty Crompton, owner of Sell It! Online Depot located at 33 Main St.
Crompton addressed council on behalf of the 70 Main Street businesses who could potentially be impacted by the construction.
