Penetanguishene residents will see their taxes increase by at least two per cent in 2018.
Council approved a $10-million operating budget and $14-million capital budget in late November.
This budget comes with a 1.96 per cent tax increase for the town portion of the tax bill. Once the provincial component is worked in, the overall tax increase will be up over two per cent.
“Our objective was to provide a budget that maintains service levels that our residents enjoy. This was done through staff recommendation, councils review and direction and public input through the town’s online budget consultation survey,” said Deputy Mayor Anita Dubeau.
