Shared: Penetanguishene Winterama to feature demolition derby

The 70th annual Winterama is taking over Penetanguishene Family Day weekend.

Ontario’s longest-running winter carnival will bring a full lineup of exciting events to downtown Penetanguishene and the Town Dock, including family ice fishing, a demolition derby, live music, a polar plunge, outdoor skating and a variety of other family friendly fun.

Winterama kickoff will be on Friday night at the Discovery Harbour Skate Trail and include public skating on the trail, ice carving and fireworks at 8 p.m. There will be live music at Phil’s and Flynn’s, 5-pin glow in the dark bowling and the crowning of the Winterama King and Queen.

Saturday will start with a pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m., which will lead into the Rotary Winterama Parade at 10:30…
