A 50-year-old Port McNicoll man is facing a theft charge after a woman recognized him from a video surveillance screen.
A Lockhart Road woman called police May 8 after realizing her wallet was missing from her car, which was parked overnight.
As she was reporting the theft, officers learned her credit card had been used at a Barrie gas station.
The woman went with police to the gas station to view video surveillance of the transaction and she recognized the man using the card.
The man later allegedly called police to say he had the wallet and purse and would return them to police.
He was then charged with theft, fraud and possession of stolen property and has a future court appearance in Bradford.
