The government of Ontario will be making licensed child care more accessible to 298 children across Simcoe County in 2018.

The $8.1-million investment in Simcoe County is part of a $231-million investment to create 493 new child care rooms in 188 schools across the province, resulting in access to licensed child care for 8,440 children and their families.

Of that number, 16 new rooms in Simcoe will provide for nearly 300 children.

“We’ve heard from young families that it is very important they get high-quality, licensed child care in a safe and convenient setting,” said Barrie MPP Ann Hoggarth.  “These new spaces will go a long way to solving these issues.”
