ALLISTON – Simcoe County Warden Gerry Marshall hosted the 10th annual Simcoe County Warden’s Gala at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort in Alliston on Sept. 29.
Thanks to the sponsorship of the numerous businesses and organizations, the event raised more than $69,000 in support of United Way Greater Simcoe County.
“Over the past 10 years, the gala has raised more $600,000 to assist our partners at the United Way bring residents from poverty to possibility,” said County of Simcoe Warden Gerry Marshall in a statement. “It’s a night of entertainment, good food and networking with colleagues, friends and family who are all working towards one common goal: to help those in need. Together we are helping change lives and build stronger communities.”
Highlights of the evening included a musical performance by Louis Lefaive, decadent food stations provided by the Nottawasaga Inn Resort, and entertainment by improv specialists Second City Works. The MC was CTV News Senior Anchor Tony Grace.
“The Warden’s Gala has provided incredible support to local communities through United Way over the past decade,” said UWGSC CEO Dale Biddell. “Many thanks to Warden Marshall and County Council for hosting this event, and to all gala sponsors and guests for their generosity and civic support.”
United Way Greater Simcoe County distributes funds and other capacity-building support to 30 local non-profit agencies throughout Simcoe County.
