Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Innisfil, New Tecumseth and Angus.
Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Lake effect snow squalls are expected to begin this evening and persist overnight before weakening by Friday evening.
These will be the first significant snow squalls of the season. Total snowfall amounts in excess of 15 cm are likely in some locations by Friday morning.
