Three Midland residents are facing shoplifting charges after allegedly taking items from two Midland grocery stores.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers were dispatched to a County Road 93 grocery store on July 29 after two shoppers fled from store security.

An OPP investigator spoke with store security and reviewed store security data. As a result, 30-year-old Danielle Paquette has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

Jesse Paul Trewin, 33, was also charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and escape of lawful custody.

Both Paquette and Trewin were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court in Midland on Sept. 13.
