Shared: Southern Georgian Bay OPP charge snowmobiler with careless operation after collision

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP’s snowmobile patrol unit were dispatched at 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 2 to a report of a snowmobile crash in the area of South Bay in Georgian Bay Township.

OPP officers, Georgian Bay Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedic Services located a lone injured male on the west side of South Bay where the OFSC trails 19 and 16 transition from the ice surface to a land trail.

The OPP officers located the male driver at a cottage and due to the remoteness of the location transported emergency services personnel to the cottage to initially treat the male.
