Area residents who have lost a loved one to suicide are invited to gather for an afternoon of support, information and empowerment.
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an annual event in which people come together to share stories while finding comfort and hope in knowing they are not alone.
Events take place Nov. 18 at St. Paul’s Centre in Orillia, the Midland Public Library and the Barrie Public Library on Worsley Street from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“Sometimes it is the first time that people have been able to talk about their loss,” said Bernadette Ramsay-Copeland, chair of the Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council.
The event is a partnership between the council and the American Foundation for Suicide…
