A Tay Township man was charged after being clocked going 183 km/h on Highway 400. The driver of the speeding Cadillac was one of 84 drivers who were issued speeding tickets by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP over the August long weekend.

Officers responded to over 300 calls for services over the weekend, including 12 motor vehicle collisions and 17 water related calls.

Over 30 motorists were issued tickets for various driving infractions with nine charged for violating the liquor licence act, and five vessel operators charged with impaired driving. Another three lost their driving privileges for three days after their blood alcohol level was found to be over .05 and in the warning range.
