Shared: Thousands attend Midland’s butter tart festival

Thousands of sugar addicts travelled to Midland seeking out the icon of Canadian desserts at Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival last weekend.

Patrician Ricknell and her three daughters travelled from Stockholm, Sweden, to attend.

“We came to visit my parents, but we made sure it coincided with butter tarts,” said Ricknell, who bought “loads” of butter tarts.

Angelika Webb of Lafontaine brought her sister Ewelina Wisnieska from Germany so their children could enjoy the festival.

“We love the fun, we love the butter tarts and we love the activities for the kids,” said Webb. “It’s nice to be part of the community.”
